The 2023 spring cycle of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group has come to an end

The 134th prayer breakfast of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group ended with joint prayer, commemoration and reckoning, which was also the closing event of the 2023 spring cycle.

Imre Vejkey, the leader of the prayer group, opened the meeting with the reading of the daily Gospel (Matthew 8, 23-27) and his own thoughts. As he explained, the message of the New Testament story, in which Jesus calmed the raging sea and banished doubts from the hearts of his disciples, teaches us not to doubt the Lord's power in the midst of the storms in our own lives, and to become his disciples ourselves.

Several of the prayer group members shared their thoughts, as a review of the past period.

Emeritus Chair of the Board of Trustees György Bakondi stated that daily self-examination is both an exceptional gift and an opportunity with which we can consciously become better and thereby fulfill our apostolic mission entrusted to us.

György Urkuti, member of the prayer group's Board of Trustees and former chair, expressed his gratitude for the time spent together during the past six months, during which the prayer group community continued to form, grow and strengthen.

Katalin Tóth, Chair of the Board of Trustees, placed the teachings of Jesus Christ on the hearts of the participants, who said that faith can overcome anything.

The prayer group members remembered their brother István Bajkai with a joint prayer, who passed away in April.

At the prayer breakfast, Mr. Vejkey thanked for the past period and the active participation of the prayer group members, and then explained the plans for the summer period.
