The Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group started the New Year with a spiritual exercise

On January 4, 2024, the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group started the New Year with a full-day spiritual exercise.

The event took place in the renovated prayer room of the prayer group. Imre Vejkey, the leader of the prayer group, greeted the gathered members of the prayer group, after which the special guest invited to the exercise, Father Miklós Rumszauer Dr, parish priest of St. Margareth and St. Joseph Church in Kaposvár, celebrated mass on the spot. Father Rumszauer was the guest of the prayer group for the second time, and this time - after the Holy Mass - he gave a lecture on the sacraments. Following this theme, the exercise continued with the presentation of the sacraments and the sharing of related thoughts. Imre Vejkey spoke about the sanctity of marriage, to which prayer group member Kinga Szőnyi co-referenced. This was followed by baptism, confirmation and first communion, about which Mónika Bartos shared her thoughts. Prayer group member László Teleki responded to what was said.

In the afternoon part, according to the program of the exercise, Chair Emeritus of the Board of Trustees, Dr. György Bakondi spoke about priestly holiness, to which prayer group member Dr. Ferenc Rényi–Vámos co-referenced. The series of lectures was finally closed by the Chair of the Supervisory Board Róbert Szendrei, who spoke about the anointing of the sick, on which Csaba János Tóth, member of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group Foundation reflected.

After the presentations of the spiritual exercise, Imre Vejkey, the leader of the prayer group, and Dr. Katalin Tóth, Chair of the Board of Trustees, thanked the members for their participation and then summarized the events for the year 2024.
