The delegation of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group visited Berlin

The Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group was invited for the second time and participated in the 28th prayer breakfast in Berlin between 27-28 June.

The members of the Hungarian delegation were Dr. Ádám Berniczei–Roykó and Péter Palkovics, members of the Board of Trustees of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group Foundation, and prayer group member Márk Aurél Érszegi. As a prior event to German–Hungarian relations, the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group hosted Bavarian State Minister Joachim Hermann in the Esztergom Basilica this May.

The main idea of the prayer group meeting in Berlin was the issue of “Responsibility before God and man” and the creation of peace. Prayer group members from more than 30 countries participated in the event. The official opening took place on June 27 in the Reichstag building, where the main organizers of the event - including MP Steffen Bilger, Deputy Chair of the Christian Democratic parliamentary group - welcomed the guests. On June 28, there was a common prayer breakfast followed by round table discussions, where the participants could share their thoughts on four different topics.

The delegation of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group shared their experiences with the members of the prayer group during the 160th prayer group meeting. In connection with the event in Berlin, it was highlighted as a positive that the presentation and domestic practice of the parliamentary prayer breakfasts and prayer group meetings were received with great interest, and many countries indicated that they would like to meet with the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group in the future.
