On October 1, 2024, the annual Reformation Month program series, organized by the Ecumenical Council of Hungarian Churches (MEÖT), began.
The Chair of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group Foundation, Dr. Ilona Katalin Tóth, took part in the celebratory service held on Kálvin Square.
At the ceremonial opening, Dr. Vilmos Fischl, Secretary General of the MEÖT, gave a greeting. After that Lutheran Bishop Péter Kondor preached the word, who recalled the details of the Acts of the Apostles to the faithful. He said that it is important to carry out the task entrusted to us, which we must do by looking to the Lord and trusting in him. The reformers did the same, who, like Jesus Christ, wanted to set an example with their lives for those who came to them.
The light of the festive service was enhanced by the performances of the Pesterzsébet–Central Reformat Choir, the Evangelical Schütz Choir of Budavár, the Heavenly Voices Choir of the Pentecostal Music Mission and the Methodist Esterházy Choir from Miskolc.
