On 20 May 2025, the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group held its 175th meeting. Imre Vejkey, the prayer group's leader, led the prayer breakfast from the Acts of the Apostles in which Paul and Barnabas return from their first missionary journey to Antioch in Syria and give an account of their apostolic work (Acts 14,19-28). He then reflected on the Gospel passage of the day, which spoke of Jesus' farewell and leaving his peace to his followers (John 14,27-31a).

He began his reflection with the question that is the central theme of the passage: where can we find peace? In response, he explained that it is not to be found in objects or on the other side of the world, but where we are and in the Lord alone. Even in the midst of the greatest turmoil, if we become discouraged, it is because we do not trust in Him enough. So let us dare to look to the heavens, turn to the Lord with a strong faith, and we will see that through Him we can soar. Ask Him to make us instruments of peace in this unpeaceful world.

Afterwards, Dr György Bakondi, Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group Foundation, shared his thoughts on peace and its importance. This is undoubtedly confirmed for us by the fact that Pope Leo XIV's first manifestations, including his words at his inaugural mass and his first Sunday message, were clearly directed towards peace.

Róbert Szendrei, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group Foundation, said that we should not think that peace means a life without problems and adversities, but rather that we are able to live in peace even in such a situation.
