On October 8, 2025, the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group hosted the Kenyan Parliamentary Prayer Group delegation for the second time as the first stop of their several-day visit to Hungary.
Imre Vejkey, leader of the prayer group, began the meeting by reading the Gospel of the day, which recounts how God revealed His eternal plan to Mary, choosing her to be the mother of the Savior. "At that time, God sent the angel Gabriel to a virgin in the town of Nazareth in Galilee, who was betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel came to her and said, 'Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you! You are blessed among women!" (Luke 1:26-28)

He then commemorated the feast of the Virgin Mary, Queen of Hungary, patron saint of Hungary, one of the holiest feasts of our Christian nation. He recalled the consecration of our country by King St. Stephen on August 15, 1038, thanks to which our country has been under the protection of the Virgin Mary, Regnum Marianum, for more than a thousand years. He noted that this consecration was not only a religious act, but also a pledge of our country's sovereignty.
Dr. Charles M. Onchoke, member of the Kenyan Parliamentary Prayer Group, emphasized that the cooperation and friendship between the two countries is reflected in the fact that this is the second time they have been guests of the Hungarian Parliamentary Prayer Group. He said that their goal in their home country is to provide spiritual support to Christian members of parliament and to bring them closer to God and to each other through Christian values, thereby deepening their human relationships.
Alice Wangari Muchiri, who led the delegation, said that after last year's meeting, they took home the message of how to implement in their country the example they had seen in Hungary, where Christian values can truly be present within the walls of parliament.
